Job Summary

Deploy physical and virtual solutions based on business requirements while implementing architecture strategies to ensure scalability, availability, and security. Build and update infrastructure-as-code scripts using Git repositories, assist in developing operational policies, and identify routine issues related to physical and virtual services. Participate in cross-functional teams on systems management strategies, capacity planning, and performance analysis, proposing innovative solutions by staying current with technology trends. Support development teams with infrastructure engineering assistance for application deployment and integration, and rotate through on-call support. Requires a bachelor's degree and three years of infrastructure experience; on-call rotation is twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Three years' experience in the application of infrastructure technologies
  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing physical and virtual infrastructure
  • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as physical and virtual compute including rack and blade servers, DAS and SAN storage, physical and virtual networks systems from vendors such as Supermicro, Dell, and CISCO
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies and concepts, such as virtual machines (VMs), servers, storage, and compute management with common hypervisors such as VMware, KVM, OpenStack, or Nutanix AHV
  • Proficiency with the use of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, BitBucket and Git
  • Ability to manage compute, storage, and network infrastructures, including CPU and memory controls, storage management, and system networking
  • Ability to manage, optimize, plan, and design infrastructure that uses Server Operating Systems such as Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Ubuntu, and related technologies such as Active Directory and DNS
  • Familiarity with security best practices and tools for cloud environments, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and monitoring
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a physical and virtual environment
  • Ability to provide on-call support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week
  • Basic scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, BitBucket and Git
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

  • Certifications such as Red Hat Systems Engineer, Windows Administrator, or VMware Data Center Virtualization
