Job Summary
Support systems-engineering principles throughout technology development by defining system context, architecture, and requirements for advanced Navy technology. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop coherent system designs, identify design gaps, and maintain consistency between technical discussions and integrated system models. Capture design rationale using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler, preparing artifacts for technical working sessions and reviews. Represent operational context, interfaces, and traceability to stakeholders while incorporating feedback into evolving designs. Maintain active Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret
- Bachelor's degree (four-year degree) in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 5 (five) years of professional experience in relevant systems-engineering, system-architecture, design, integration, or technical-development experience
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering or system-design activities
- Working knowledge of systems-engineering principles and practices
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering and SysML
- Strong communication, collaboration, and technical-synthesis skills
- Ability to reason across system context, behavior, structure, interfaces, requirements, and design constraints
- Ability to work effectively within systems-engineering team and with technical specialists from multiple disciplines
- Ability to apply established modeling methods and conventions
- Ability to organize complex information and represent it clearly through models, diagrams, and written material
- Preference will be given to candidates located near Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, who can regularly participate in on-site collaboration
- Remote employees may be required to travel to Patuxent River for technical working sessions, demonstrations, and program reviews
- On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site
- In rare occasions, travel may be required
- For all positions requiring access to technology/software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or a comparable SysML modeling environment
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or U.S. Navy technology-development programs
- Experience with software-intensive, distributed, simulation, or system-of-systems architectures
- Experience with behavioral modeling, functional decomposition, interface definition, requirements traceability, or architecture development
- Familiarity with software development, data architecture, simulation environments, or digital-engineering practices
- Experience participating in technical working sessions or system-level design reviews
- Experience with System-of-Systems integration, LVC environments, and interoperability
