Job Summary
Support Joint Evaluation Projects for new metrology tools at key customer sites by introducing new features, performing advanced troubleshooting, and validating tool performance. Conduct regular interactions with customers and coordinate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D engineering, field service, manufacturing, marketing, and application groups. Independently identify and resolve technical and logistical issues limiting tool performance while designing and executing design of experiments for optical instrumentation. Travel internationally up to 75% of the time to facilitate these engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Master or Ph.D. degree in optical engineering, physics, EE or other relevant disciplines
- 3-5 years of experience in high precision optical or semiconductor capital instruments, or alternative experience
- Ability to independently identify and troubleshoot issues which limit tool performance – including both technical and logistical problems
- Ability to understand what limits system performance, and how to overcome those limits
- Ability to independently design and perform design of experiments related to optical instrumentation
- Must be a proactive self-starter

Desired Qualifications
- Experience using Matlab and JMP is a plus
- Knowledge in spectroscopy, ellipsometry and reflectometry is a plus
