Job Summary
Develop and manage system requirements while supporting architecture development for the DOE Genesis Mission. Apply systems engineering lifecycle processes to create models with and without an AI Model Assistant, then produce licensing documents for regulatory delivery. Perform trade studies, risk assessments, and integration testing while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Author reports assessing AI-assisted architecture design and maintain technical documentation. This role involves occasional travel to company sites and is based in Torrance, California.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field
- 3+ years of systems engineering experience
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles
- Experience working in multidisciplinary environments
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with MBSE methodologies
- Experience with IBM Rhapsody 10.0 (SysML 1.x)
- Familiarity with SysML/UML
- Experience with requirements tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.)
- Experience in relevant industry
- Familiarity with use and checking of work items generated by AI Agents like Claude
