Job Summary
Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and configuration records for all hardware, software, virtual assets, licenses, and associated documentation. Track the complete lifecycle of configuration items from procurement through deployment, sustainment, technology refresh, and disposal. Maintain accurate Bills of Material, Approved Vendor Lists, and Approved Product Lists while coordinating with procurement to reconcile purchase orders and deliveries. Verify that deployed systems remain consistent with approved engineering baselines and authorized configurations. Support Supply Chain Risk Management activities by documenting approved vendors, product substitutions, and supplier information. Produce recurring reports on asset inventory, licensing compliance, and configuration baselines. Assist with internal audits, Government inspections, and the development of configuration management plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting configuration management, asset management, logistics, procurement, or technical program support
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Demonstrated experience maintaining highly accurate technical documentation and inventory records
- Experience managing hardware inventories, software inventories, or enterprise asset databases
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel and enterprise asset management tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoD or Federal Government programs
- Experience with Configuration Management (CM) principles
- Familiarity with CMDBs, ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or similar enterprise management tools
- Experience maintaining software licensing, maintenance agreements, or vendor contracts
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-161 Supply Chain Risk Management concepts
- Experience supporting hardware procurement, receiving, and lifecycle management
- Knowledge of ITIL Configuration Management practices
- Experience supporting engineering organizations or technical operations
