Job Summary
Perform as a Linux Systems Administrator on large, classified government contracts, maintaining smooth operation of multi-user computer systems and supporting multiple networks. Analyze customer requirements to determine equipment and software solutions, then recommend and implement system enhancements including installing, upgrading, patching, and monitoring. Create and maintain user accounts, modify file permissions, and test new product releases to ensure compatibility. Develop and document technical processes, interact with vendors to evaluate products, and adhere to strict information systems security guidelines. Prepare security documentation for the Cyber Security team and report project status as required. Work independently to determine approaches to solutions while managing quarterly security patch updates on virtual machines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience
- Master's degree with 6 years of related experience
- PhD with 4 years of related experience
- An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Current/Active DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance or higher at time of application
- At least 1 year of server administration experience with RHEL
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (example: Security+ CE) or ability to obtain one within 6 months of start date as a condition of continued employment
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Information Assurance processes for various USG classified networks
- Experience of Active Directory forests, including root and child domains
- Experience of cross platform networks consisting of Linux, UNIX and Windows Servers
