Job Summary
Administer Windows servers on VMware vSphere, including patching, provisioning, backups, and capacity planning. Manage AWS resources including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, and RDS to support workloads migrating to the cloud. Monitor cloud health and spend through CloudWatch and Cost Explorer, while maintaining Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy in a hybrid identity environment synced to Microsoft Entra. Own monitoring and alerting in Nagios and Splunk, run Veeam backup jobs, and respond to incidents with documented root cause analysis. Follow change management and documented security controls in all work. Work on-site at Kurv Pay's Cleveland headquarters with occasional off-hours availability and on-call rotation. Maintain compliance posture across PCI DSS and SOC 2 frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years in a system administration role
- Windows Server administration (2016 through 2022)
- VMware vSphere (ESXi and vCenter)
- Linux administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar)
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Solid grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing
- Comfortable writing and maintaining PowerShell scripts
- Hands-on backup and recovery experience
- Experience with compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS and SOC 2
- Hands-on experience with AI and LLM tools, or a strong drive to apply them to organizational efficiency
- Clear written and verbal communication
Desired Qualifications
- AWS experience across compute, storage, networking, and serverless (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, RDS/PostgreSQL, CloudWatch)
- Automation and light DevOps skills (AWS CLI, Python, infrastructure as code)
- Splunk administration or SPL
- Nagios or a comparable monitoring platform
- Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switching
- Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration
- Microsoft SQL Server fundamentals
- Experience working in a regulated environment
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate, VMware VCP, Security+, or CCNA
