Job Summary
Execute system administration functions including user account maintenance, OS patching, antivirus updates, security log analysis, and network documentation. Operate MS Windows server software by managing system security, access controls, and backups while troubleshooting networking hardware and ensuring hardware/software compatibility. Monitor LAN performance, specify network requirements, and organize directory structures to support staff training and document management procedures. Make recommendations for future hardware and software implementations, schedule system upgrades across design, test, and production environments, and serve as the primary point of contact for problem reporting and version updates. Maintain stable workstation performance under minimal supervision while utilizing established policies to resolve complex assignments requiring independent judgment.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or higher degree in Computer/Information Technology, or equivalent academic/technical training
- 5 years related experience or combination of experience in computer system basics and/or related areas of expertise
- Broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and within structured guidelines
- Verbal and written communication skills sufficient to permit interaction with other employees as well as taking work direction from Senior Systems Administrators or Supervisors
- Sound working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications, e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
- Ability to obtain CompTIA Security + Certification within 6 months
- Must be able to successfully pass the required drug test
- SECRET Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Information Technology
- Top Secret Security Clearance
- Knowledge of STIGs, SCAP, and ACAS
- MSCE, A+ or equivalent
