Job Summary
Manage IT infrastructure including server rooms, switches, cabling, routers, firewalls, and UPS units to ensure efficient business operations. Update end-user machines and servers with latest software patches, antivirus, and third-party applications for optimal protection. Manage the organization's backup solution by making routine backups and verifying integrity through weekly and monthly restores. Maintain IT Access Control Plans and physical user access systems to secure data against internal and external breaches. Support Active Directory implementation and manage the helpdesk for end-user computing. Provide after-hours support for ICT infrastructure and end users, working under pressure to complete tasks timeously while identifying improvement areas for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or Higher Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science, or an appropriate Professional Certification
- Advanced Excel user
- 3 years working experience in a technical support role
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Respond and work well under pressure
- Ability to complete tasks timeously and work until the task is complete
- Show initiative and ability to self-motivate and work alone frequently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate technical information to non-technical employees within the business
- Ability to identify improvement areas and understand how this function interacts with various stakeholders within the business and thus be proactive with initiating such projects
- Understand the need for Disaster Recovery planning and system testing
- Willing to travel nationally and cross-border (Namibia)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of, and Experience with, PowerBI and QlikSense will be an advantage
