Job Summary
Systems Administrator role supporting a defense research organization with a focus on Linux system administration, security hardening, and cross-functional stack management. Responsibilities include administering Linux servers/workstations in multiple environments, building and managing authentication and file-share services to support heterogeneous clients, assisting in design, implementation, support, and troubleshooting related to performance, compliance, and security hardening, and providing server/desktop-level support. The ideal candidate has deep Linux knowledge (filesystem, services, scripting), storage administration, virtualization (VMware ESXi/VCenter), and experience with DevOps workflows and CI/CD tools, along with DoD STIGs/SCAP and TS/SCI clearance. Must be onsite four days a week with one day remote for classified tasks; strong automation and scripting capabilities (Python/Ansible/TCL/Bash) and experience in UNIX-based environments are required. Also expects experience with Active Directory/LDAP, Red Hat Linux, and security/compliance frameworks (RMF, NISPOM, CMMC). Benefits and location indicate Lexington, MA, USA onsite work with occasional remote work as described.
Required Qualifications
- Top Secret/SCI clearance
- 6 years - Linux server/workstation administration
- 6 years - Operating System (Linux, Mac, Windows)
- 6 years - Scripting Experience: Python, Ansible, TCL or Bash
- 3 years - DoD STIGs and SCAP
- 5 years - Administering classified Linux systems
- 6 years - Configure and Maintain a Number of Linux Systems Utilizing Scripting Languages and Automation Tools
- 3 years - Configure and Manage Centralized Logging and Audit Capabilities
- 3 years - Experience with DevOps workflows and common CI/CD tools
- 6 years - Experience working in a UNIX based environment with familiarity of UNIX based scripting
- 5 years - Linux OS and scripting
- 10 years - Linux troubleshooting and performance tuning
- 5 years - MS Active Directory, LDAP
- 5 years - Redhat Linux Systems Administration
- 4 years - Red Hat Satellite to support Linux systems
- 6 years - Strong Backup Experience and Proven Ability to Protect Mission Critical Data
- 6 years - Virtualization Technologies (VMware, including ESXi and VCenter configuration)
- Location: onsite 4 days/wk with 1 day remote for classified tasks
