Job Summary
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and security patches across the network while monitoring performance to address bottlenecks. Administer user accounts and permissions to ensure data security, troubleshoot hardware and software issues with root cause analysis, and provide technical support to end-users. Maintain documentation for system configurations and collaborate with teams to develop technical deliverables. This 3rd shift role (11pm–7am) requires an active Top-Secret/SCI clearance and 6+ years of systems administration experience.
Required Qualifications
- active Top-Secret, Department of State SCI
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field
- More than 6 years of proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role
- strong understanding of IT infrastructure and systems management
- Proficiency in managing Windows systems
- Familiarity with VMware virtualization technology
- Knowledge of network protocols and security best practices
- Experience with system monitoring and management tools
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator)
- Experience working with technical teams to develop and deliver technical documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task scripting
- Certification in ITIL or other relevant service management certifications
