Job Summary
Integrate electronic and mechanical components, install firmware, and perform in-service testing of components and the complete system. Execute tool-supported hardware-near laboratory, integration, and system tests to verify hardware and software interactions, while testing firmware releases on laser system prototypes using real hardware or simulations. Diagnose and analyze issues in firmware, software, or hardware, and manage external programmers alongside internal experts in system engineering, electronics, and construction. Create and review test specifications, produce technical documentation per regulatory process guidelines, and define functional requirements for medical devices. This two-year fixed-term role supports the R&D team at WaveLight, a subsidiary of Alcon, developing innovative laser systems for refractive eye surgery.
Required Qualifications
- Abgeschlossenes naturwissenschaftliches oder technisches Studium (Elektrotechnik, Medizintechnik, Mikroelektronik, System- / Embedded Engineering oder ähnliches)
- Sehr gutes technisches Verständnis, insbesondere für elektronische Schaltungen
- Begeisterung für Systemintegration und dem Zusammenspiel von Hardware und Software
- Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
- Selbstständige, gewissenhafte und systematische Arbeitsweise mit einem hohen Maß an Team- und Kommunikationsfähigkeit
- Belastbarkeit, Flexibilität sowie ein hohes Qualitätsbewusstsein
- Die Fähigkeit, komplexe Probleme zu analysieren und mit Kreativität innovative Lösungen zu entwickeln
Desired Qualifications
- Fundierte Erfahrung in den Bereichen System Engineering, Produktentwicklung sowie Hardwaretests und hardwarenahen Softwaretests
- Kenntnisse über anzuwendende aktuelle Normen und Regularien für ophthalmologische Medizinprodukte
- Erfahrung mit Software Requirement Engineering und Software-Entwicklungsprozess nach IEC 62304
- Erfahrung mit Polarion und Azure DevOps
