System Test Engineer (BESS)(Onsite)

Job Summary
Design and execute system-level testing of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and microgrid systems, including functional, performance, and safety validation; support system commissioning, startup, and on-site validation; perform hands-on testing and system bring-up for integrated systems (inverters, batteries, EMS); build and configure test setups with wiring, instrumentation, and data collection; operate test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, load banks); diagnose issues with root-cause analysis and coordinate with engineering teams; ensure compliance with UL, IEC, and NEC requirements; collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and controls engineers; travel to customer sites up to 25%; contribute to improving testing processes and documentation; on-site, hands-on role requiring strong electrical troubleshooting and lab/field execution; on-site Timberlake, NC location; is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 4-6+ years of experience in system testing, commissioning, or field service
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware and integrated systems
- Familiarity with basic test equipment and electrical diagnostics
- Ability to work independently in field environments
