Job Summary
System Software Engineer III focused on creating and executing new test cases/scenarios and automating them for EVPN-VXLAN leaf-spine fabrics, EVPN-MPLS L2/L3VPN services, multi-homing (ESI-LAG/EVPN-MH), DCI architecture (EVPN Multi-site, IRB), and underlay routing (OSPF/ISIS/BGP). Responsibilities include running scale, convergence and stress tests, manual testing, and automation in python/pytest/robot, debugging EVPN advertisement, BGP Flaps, MPLS label stack issues, ECMP and multi-homing failures, and raising high-quality defects. Works with SW team to fix defects, reviews customer POC/BMT test cases, handles customer PRs, provides RCA, and may add automation to cover findings. Packet-level troubleshooting with traffic analyzers and collaboration across teams are expected.
Required Qualifications
- BE/ME/MCA in CS/ECE
- Strong understanding of EVPN-VXLAN data centre fabrics
- Good understanding of OSI Model, TCP/IP protocol suite (ARP, IP, ICMP, IGMP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, FTP)
- Strong understanding of EVPN-MPLS L2/L3VPN services
- Good understanding of protocols like OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, SR-MPLS, LDP, RSVP
- Excellent automation skills in python/pytest/robot framework
- Few years of experience in product test/regression and BRAS/L2/L3 protocols testing
