System Safety Engineer - Technical Specialist II

Job Summary
Selects appropriate methods and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues in system safety for aircraft. Performs fault tree analysis, failure mode effects analysis, and risk assessment to classify criticality and ensure safe operation of aircraft systems. Allocates aircraft functions to systems, analyzes the impact of failures and design changes on aircraft operation, and verifies reliability and safety requirements per ARP4754A/ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 25.1309. Collaborates with system design engineers, maintains technical standards, and contributes to safety analyses across EWIS, HIRF, engine rotor/burst and zonal analyses. Proficient in CATIA/3D modeling, DOORS or similar requirements tools, and technical writing. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field with substantial experience (10 years in specialized discipline or 15 years across disciplines), with advanced degrees preferred. Travel not specified; role supports Gulfstream engineering programs for the Gulfstream product line.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
- Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred.
