Job Summary
Execute the safety strategy for the program and integrate system safety into product development to meet milestones; engage with Lead System Safety Engineer and Portfolio Engineering Lead; participate in multi-IPT program meetings; communicate system safety requirements, hazards, and planned mitigations; own technical solutions and collaborate across IPTs to ensure successful development and testing; analyze engineering software/firmware per MIL-STD-882E and other standards; review embedded software code; contribute to Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program briefings; interfacing with customers, program offices, subcontractors, and vendors; strive for compliant safety programs and hazard mitigations across the system lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience with MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks (task series 100/200/300/400)
- Experience reviewing software code and requirements for safety considerations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Secret)
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. person as required for clearance
- Onsite role in MA (Tewksbury)
- Strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
- Experience interfacing with customers, program offices, subcontractors, and vendors
