Job Summary
System Operator I at NYSDOT Region 9 TMC in Binghamton, NY monitors traffic conditions, coordinates incident response, and ensures efficient operation of the Transportation Management Center. Trainee may start in training capacity and can be promoted to System Operator I after completing a core competency evaluation. Requires familiarity with TMC operations, ITS elements, roadways knowledge, and strong communication and computer skills. Shift is Monday-Thursday 10PM-6:30AM; salary $24/hour plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher; OR Minimum of 60 college credit hours (transcripts required), including courses supporting oral, written, and computer/software KSAs; OR Two years of full-time employment meeting the Qualifying Experience criteria
