Job Summary
Monitor and operate the AECI portion of the Bulk Electric System, ensuring stability and reliability of the energy grid in real-time. Operate the transmission system to maintain proper voltage profiles and system operating limits while juggling the balance between demand and resources within the Balancing Authority Area. Execute real-time reliability-related tasks and cross-train in areas outside your primary duties to enhance team versatility. Work closely with Power Marketers, Shift Supervisors, and external operators to communicate effectively on safe BES operations. Requires rotating shifts and NERC System Operator Reliability Coordinator certification; offers competitive total compensation, 401(k) match, PTO, and paid holidays.
Required Qualifications
- proficient knowledge of the Bulk Electric System within and surrounding AECI's service area
- high level of knowledge about transmission operations and generator theory and operations
- 2-5 years of experience as an Associate System Operator
- valid North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) System Operator Reliability Coordinator certification credentials
