Job Summary
Senior Program Manager for System Operations leads initiatives related to transmission system operations, operational tools, and operator training within the electric power industry. Oversees program management, technical coordination, and stakeholder engagement to improve operational performance, knowledge sharing, and industry best practices. Collaborates with executive leadership, technical experts, and member organizations to develop and implement strategic programs that support reliable Bulk Electric System operations while addressing regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include leading program practice areas, translating strategic goals into actionable initiatives, cultivating cross-organizational relationships, organizing and facilitating projects, engaging with member leadership, communicating progress to diverse audiences, leading peer reviews and technical assistance activities, identifying improvement initiatives, coordinating with business intelligence teams to analyze metrics and survey data, facilitating knowledge transfer through benchmarking and surveys, developing and delivering staff/member training, contributing to strategic planning and program integration, and supporting policy/documentation development. Follow corporate policies and perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the electric power industry or a similar industrial environment
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in transmission system operations, operator training, operations support, or a related field
- Familiarity with software tools used in transmission system operations
- Understanding of NERC standards related to Bulk Electric System operations
- Ability to work effectively within a matrixed team environment
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to develop professional, well-organized documentation with excellent grammar and clarity
- Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to deliver engaging and well-structured presentations
- Excellent meeting facilitation skills, including managing large virtual meetings with multiple presenters
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for creating high-quality presentations and documents
- Strong project management capabilities
- Demonstrated initiative, self-direction, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and a high volume of work
- High level of flexibility and adaptability
