Job Summary
System Operations Engineer responsible for the operations of Earth Observation ground segments and space systems, including system monitoring, anomaly investigation, and documentation; hands-on with multi-mission tools and SCOS2000-based workflows; requires UNIX/Linux proficiency, strong communication, and the ability to contribute to operation concepts and validation for future satellite systems; located in Darmstadt, Germany, with strict adherence to export-control requirements.
Required Qualifications
- University degree (engineering or discipline relevant to the job) or proven experience in EO ground segments and system operations
- At least two years’ experience in system operations of Earth Observation missions, preferably in an operational environment
- At least two years’ experience in system operations engineering of complex EO ground segments, and experience in verification and validation
- GEO-specific experience; GEO spacecraft operations (spinning and/or 3-axis stabilized)
- Very good strengths in analysis, synthesis and presentation skills
- Very good interpersonal, communication and reporting skills
- At least two years’ experience with UNIX / Linux systems, preferably in an operational environment
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage
- Compliance with the European and US (ITAR/EAR) export control laws
