Job Summary
Travel weekly between CorrHealth facilities as a full-time Registered Nurse providing care to inmate patients. Responsibilities include assessing health problems, initiating medical records, administering prescribed treatments and medications, preparing examination rooms, maintaining IV therapies, and ensuring pharmacology safety. May serve as Charge Nurse or Acting Supervisor in the absence of the HSA and delegate tasks to staff. Requires CPR/AED capability, ability to use standard medical equipment (AED, EKG, BP device, oxygen, Doppler, glucometer, etc.), travel to scheduled locations, and flexible availability across days and nights. Must reside in CO, NM, TX, or WY and hold a compact RN license; background checks and pre-employment drug testing apply; work environment is correctional facilities with HIPAA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted compact license as Registered Nurse
- Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the designated state accrediting agent
- AED certification (must maintain)
- Experience in correctional healthcare preferred but not required
