Job Summary
System Engineer responsible for installing server and network hardware in customer data centers, including racking and stacking, configuring switches/routers/firewalls, and interconnecting server clusters with fiber and copper cabling. Travel to local and remote customer sites, ensuring organized racks, proper cable pathways, and adherence to data center standards. Serve as on-site technical point of contact, coordinate with vendors and customer teams, perform quality checks, and document installations. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in data center server, rack, and cabling deployments preferred
- Proven experience in data center hardware installation, cable management, and network setup
- Strong knowledge of server hardware components, network devices, and cabling standards
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for hardware installation
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, particularly while traveling
- Physical capability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and perform installation tasks in a data center environment
- Flexibility to travel frequently and work outside normal business hours as required
