System Engineer (OCONUS and CONUS travel opportunities)

Job Summary
Conduct systems engineering activities throughout the systems life cycle phases, developing and delivering work products in ISO/IEC 15288 process areas. Analyze technical alternatives, propose engineering standards, and independently make decisions regarding project methodology. Supervise contractor engineers and technicians, approve delivery of multiple process area work products, and brief stakeholders on technical status. Perform site surveys, execute system installations, and troubleshoot network, hardware, and software configurations while adapting to unexpected challenges. Requires OCONUS and CONUS travel up to 3-4 weeks at a time.
Required Qualifications
- Competent with all manner of hand tools to include power tools.
- Competent with RF spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and signal generators.
- Familiarity with Microsoft suite of applications to include Visio, Excel and Word.
- Should have working knowledge of Linux.
- Experience performing site surveys and / or planning and executing system installations.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team or lead small team projects.
- Able to travel OCONUS, CONUS for up to 3-4 weeks at a time.
- Experience troubleshooting networks, hardware and software configurations.
- Ability to think on the fly and adapt to unexpected challenges.
- Familiarity with system design and testing.
- Familiarity with customer GOTs software capabilities.
