Job Summary
Lead cross-functional teams to develop system-level architecture and requirements that influence Missile Defense Agency incremental capability. Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to evaluate architectural impacts through functional and behavior analysis for defeating conventional and advanced threats. Collaborate in an MBSE environment to develop system-of-systems requirements via trade studies, lead Change Notice development to MDA specifications, and deliver technical briefings for stakeholder reviews. Work in close coordination with the customer while maintaining Secret clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.)
- Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems (i.e., aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.)
- Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures)
- Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems
- Strong technical background in architecture development, functional decomposition and allocation of requirements (performance, functional and interface definition) with system-modelling tools
- Strong prior experience with use of MSOSA (Cameo) and DOORS
- Demonstrated knowledge in any of the MDA domain areas; including Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF)
- Ability to think critically and capture concepts in papers, presentations and discussions
- Good communication/presentation skills
- Capability of working both independently and within a small team environment
- Degree in an engineering classification, mathematics or physics: Bachelor's, Master's or PhD
- Secret clearance
