Job Summary
System Engineer Manager responsible for the design, installation, administration, and optimization of the company’s storage and computer environment (Windows, Linux/Unix, Citrix, hypervisors) to ensure high performance of business applications. Manages a team of systems engineers, oversees project planning/execution/budget, coordinates cross-functional integration, provides design/development/implementation guidance, automates routine tasks via scripting, monitors storage usage, ensures availability of client and server applications, communicates status/risks to stakeholders, and maintains strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders while ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science
- 10+ years related experience
- Proven leadership experience in systems engineering
- Experience with VMware, Linux, Windows
- Knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with load balancing technologies (NetScaler, BIG-IP)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Continuous learning and staying current with industry trends
