Job Summary
Develop Infrastructure as Code and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools using Terraform, Ansible, and Python. Install, configure, and performance-tune Kubernetes and cloud-native logging/metrics tools like Elasticsearch and Grafana/Prometheus. Manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code via GitLab runners and Argo CD. Oversee commercial cloud computing platforms on AWS, including EC2, Lambdas, EKS, and RDS. Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability while troubleshooting infrastructure issues to ensure system uptime. Requires 20 years of Systems Engineering experience in programs and contracts.
Required Qualifications
- Twenty (20) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity, with demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
Desired Qualifications
- Develop and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes
- Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambdas, EKS, RDS, S3, EFS, EBS) using Terraform and auto-scaling
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime
- Kubernetes experience with a focus on EKS
- Familiarity with FOSS tools (Elasticsearch, Prometheus/Grafana, PGAdmin) installable in Kubernetes via Helm chart
- Familiarity with Kubernetes storage class types such as GP3, Longhorn, and EBS
