Job Summary
System Engineer responsible for designing, implementing and validating equipment control hardware and software for industrial automation and control systems. Develop and maintain contract design documentation throughout the project lifecycle, provide technical interfaces to customers and suppliers, and contribute to engineering and software development for process industry control systems. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary project team across sales, project, commissioning and service, drive standardized engineering solutions, manage changes through engineering change control, and support project execution with cross-functional liaison. Requires strong PLC/SCADA/HMI automation expertise, knowledge of industry networks, cybersecurity practices, and willingness to travel for site work and international assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s / bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation engineering
- Minimum 5 Years of hands-on experience in engineering and commissioning of automation systems
- Experience in Processes like Steel manufacturing (Metals), Test benches, Mining, Rectifiers, Rotating Stabilisers (Synchronous Condensers), Grid Automation
- Autonomous hands-on experience in GE / Siemens / ABB / Allen Bradely / Beckhoff / Rockwell automation products (PLCs, I/O, HMI)
- Expertise in automation architectures, hardware engineering, I/O selection, instruments, component selection
- Strong Programming knowledge in FBD, Ladder, Structured Text in industrial PLC systems
- Experience in redundancy in PLC and SCADA systems
- Knowledge of industrial networks, switch settings, virtual networking, ring networking, and project implementation
- Knowledge in cybersecurity and its implementation in industrial networking
- Experience with protocols: Profibus, Profinet, TCP/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus (TCP), IEC61850, SNMP
- Experience with field instruments and interfaces + signal processing
- Experience in measurement systems, current transformers
- Experience in closed loop control systems
- Proficiency in electrical schematics, SLDs, Plant Layout diagrams
- Ability to multi-task across projects to tight time scales
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Willingness to travel within India and overseas for short-term/long-term work at customer sites/regions
- Knowledge in SCADA / HMI tools (Rockwell FactoryTalk, PcVue, Intouch, Cimplicity, iFix, WinCC) is desirable
- Basic knowledge in power electronics components and subsystems
- AutoCAD, E-Plan familiarity
- Understanding of IEC standards relevant to electrical panels & automation systems
