Job Summary

Maintain network tools and systems within US GovCloud and air-gapped regions by troubleshooting failures, deploying updates, and validating services. Diagnose critical system issues, document solutions, and build production-quality tools in Python, Perl, Ruby, Shell, or Java to solve operational problems at scale. Collaborate with internal teams to improve system performance, security, and reliability while researching implementations that deliver the best customer experiences. Work in a 24x7 on-call rotation with ability to travel to data centers and customer sites as needed. Requires active TS/SCI security clearance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
  • Must be able to work in a 24x7 team on call rotation
  • Ability to drive into workplace for critical events/needs
  • Travel to data center/systems sites and Amazon/customer offices as needed
  • Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution
  • Operating efficiently under pressure
  • Must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance after start

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with PowerShell (preferred)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
  • 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
  • Passion for innovation, data, search, analytics, and distributed systems
  • Ability to calmly and quickly diagnose and fix critical systems failures in high pressure situations
  • Manage and grow innovative, production-quality tools to solve real operational problems
  • Investigate complicated technical issues scientifically and thoroughly
  • Understand how a modern, cloud-hosted application stack works from top to bottom
  • Know how to provide technical solutions to real business problems in a global organization
  • Ability to think at 'Amazon scale' to solve problems in permanent, sustainable, and scalable ways
  • With an eye toward utilizing the best solution over the quickest solution
  • Collaboratively and independently to investigate and document issues and create solutions to solve them at scale
