Job Summary
System Designer II responsible for designing and laying out Everon Fire Alarm and Life Safety Systems in accordance with codes and standards, serving as a technical resource to sales/operations, and collaborating across teams to deliver code-compliant, cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities include interpreting project specifications and plans, preparing scope of work and as-built documentation, designing building fire alarm, voice evacuation, networked systems and related components, and supporting redesign/estimation efforts while managing changing workloads. Requires strong knowledge of life-safety systems, proficiency with AutoCAD/Bluebeam, ability to travel up to 25%, and effective communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Electronics or other technical field or equivalent experience preferred
- 5-10 years engineering security, life safety systems or related experience
- Proficiency in system programming, job start-up, checkout, and troubleshooting preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, word processing, spreadsheet, project management; AutoCAD; PDF markup tools (Bluebeam preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fully proficient and independent design skills
- Ability to read schematic and/or construction plans
- Ability to manage a heavy workload and adapt to changing environments
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Experience with commercial fire alarm and life safety systems design
