System Assurance Engineer (RAMS)

Job Summary
Analyse and evaluate design compliance with safety requirements and safety principles. Define technical and functional safety requirements for train control systems. Conduct safety analyses (i.e. PHA, SHA, IHA, OSHA, FTA, FMECA) to verify that the train control systems for both hardware and software are safe. Carry out safety review and analysis of Change Request (CR) related to the project. Assure that safety requirements are met by participating in hardware, software and field testing (as required). Assist in the development and follow through to completion the Specific Application Safety Case (SASC) of our products. Applicants should have a degree in Electrical Engineering; Computer Science or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in real-time safety-critical systems and train control systems (CBTC); knowledge of RAMS railway standards (EN50126/28/29/50716) is desirable; familiarity with safety/mission-critical systems design, hazard/fault-tree and FMECA, and experience with RAMS tools such as DOORS and FTA. Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering; Computer Science or equivalent
- 2+ years experience in real-time safety critical systems and train control systems (i.e. CBTC system)
- Knowledge of system requirements definition/design, safety and risk analysis
- Knowledge of reliability and safety analysis techniques
- Experience with or exposure to safety/mission-critical systems design, and exposure to hazard, fault-tree and failure modes and effects analysis, statistical modeling and analysis of complex software/ hardware/human interface systems are assets
- Knowledge with RAMS railway standards, such as EN50126, EN50128, EN50129, EN50716
- Yellow Book is desirable
- Knowledge of railway systems is an asset
- Computer skills, MS Office; DOORS, FTA tools
