Own the end-to-end system architecture for distributed, event-driven backend systems, ensuring absolute reliability at massive scale. Define long-term platform strategy and translate complex business needs into robust technical designs with clear system boundaries. Build and evolve core services while staying deeply involved in implementation and code, identifying bottlenecks to lead initiatives solving technical debt. Set the standard for code quality, observability, and resilience, serving as the ultimate technical reference point for the engineering organization. This role aligns with a global leader in Data Intelligence and Enterprise Web Infrastructure, focusing on extreme scalability and pragmatic leadership to balance architectural perfection with real-world constraints.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience as a System Architect, Staff Engineer, or Senior Technical Lead
- Track record of making foundational design decisions
- Deep knowledge of software architecture trade-offs regarding performance, maintainability, and high-availability
- Strong hands-on skills (ideally in TypeScript)
- High-bar for observability, fault tolerance, and production debugging in complex environments
- Ability to balance 'perfect' architecture with real-world business constraints
- Ability to communicate trade-offs to stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Deep experience with TypeScript and Node.js
- Strong background in Event-Driven Architectures
- Experience with LLMs and modern AI/ML integration
- Familiarity with Networking, Proxies, or Reverse Engineering
- Experience building data-intensive solutions for major social media or web platforms
