Job Summary
System Architect, Distinguished Technologist for HPC & AI at HPE. Develops strategy and technology roadmaps for electrical hardware design and development across the Global Business Unit and company, collaborates with customers and solution architects to craft bid responses and architectural proposals, provides design input for new product development, mentors less-experienced staff, and leads cross-functional initiatives to drive innovation and leadership in electronic hardware for HPC/AI platforms. Requires strong expertise in high-performance, liquid-cooled HPC systems, power and cooling, data-center facility considerations, and experience with high-speed interconnects (Infiniband, Cray Slingshot, Ethernet) as well as familiarity with AMD/NVIDIA architectures and their software stacks (CUDA, ROCm). Excellent written/spoken communication and stakeholder-management skills; demonstrated track record of design innovation and patents. This role is hybrid with an expectation to work out of an HPE office about two days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- PhD in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years experience
- Experience with HPC and AI systems
- Experience with high speed interconnects (Infiniband, Cray Slingshot, Ethernet)
- Familiarity with AMD and Nvidia architectures, including SW stacks (ROCm and CUDA)
- Knowledge of software used on HPC/AI systems (MPI, schedulers)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer interface skills
- Ability to mentor staff and lead cross-functional teams
