Job Summary

Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment, troubleshooting technical problems to resolve issues of basic to moderate scope and complexity. Execute actions as directed by senior staff and project management while managing ESXi, VCenter, and Microsoft Windows domains. Perform data backup and restore using industry best practices, install and configure software applications for end users, and collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements. Systems are operational 24x7, occasionally requiring work beyond standard hours, with up to 10% travel to other US domestic locations. This role supports RTX's mission to protect national and allied freedoms through advanced aerospace and defense solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date
  • Experience Deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data
  • Experience with cloning techniques
  • Use and guide use of automation tools e.g. Ansible
  • Experience with operating system concepts and implementations
  • Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. user and computer objects administration, Group Policy)
  • Experience with network services related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Experience with supporting desktop / workstation hardware
  • Experience with an IT incident/service request system

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods
  • Experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption and server management tools
  • Perform data backup and restore, using industry best practice
  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements
