Job Summary
Monitor and support 24x7 Linux systems in a classified environment, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis while documenting issues in logging tools. Design and implement updates to satisfy engineering requirements, upgrade COTS products to targeted baselines, and act as a help desk team member in a customer-facing role. Maintain effective communication with engineering groups and customers to uphold operational standards and the company's reputation. This position supports critical digital infrastructure programs for aerospace and defense customers, requiring active TS/SCI poly clearance and DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification.
Required Qualifications
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Active and existing security clearance required on day 1
- Security Clearance Type: TS/SCI with CI Poly
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 2 years or prior relevant experience
- Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date
- Experience with Linux RedHat and Windows
- Experience with virtual/cloud computing technologies such as: Citrix, VMware, and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Desired Qualifications
- The ability to work effectively with frequent and direct customer interaction in a real-time operational environment
- The ability to work under pressure in restoring high priority systems back to operations
- Working Cloudera experience
- Ability to navigate, debug, and modify programs in an advanced programming language
- Experience with storage products from Oracle, Dell/EMC (e.g., Isilon/PowerScale), and/or NetApp
- Experience presenting technical information to customers, clients, and/or internal audiences
- Working knowledge of thin-client technologies
