System Administrator – Level II

Job Summary
Monitor enterprise system performance and proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, network, and system access services. Generate, manage, and track service requests and advanced incident tickets while implementing corrective and preventive solutions to sustain operational continuity. Perform system maintenance activities including patching, configuration validation, and security configuration management in compliance with Department of Defense and Department of the Navy regulations. Collaborate with infrastructure teams and developers on modernization projects, create technical documentation, and communicate clearly regarding outages and maintenance activities. Requires active TS/SCI clearance and five years of progressive experience in enterprise environments.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience operating computer systems in enterprise environments
- Experience supporting and/or engineering enterprise data center environments
- Broad experience with virtualized environments and technologies supporting enterprise computing capabilities
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows Server
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with VMware
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with system-level applications
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with enterprise support tools
- Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service across all organizational levels and in a variety of operational environments
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex hardware issues
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex software issues
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex network-related problems
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex system access and authentication issues
- Experience performing system maintenance activities including patching and updates
- Experience performing system maintenance activities including configuration validation
- Experience performing system maintenance activities including security-focused administrative tasks
- Experience performing system maintenance activities including preventive maintenance activities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to clearly document technical issues
- Ability to clearly document incident resolutions
- Ability to clearly document outages
- Ability to clearly document maintenance and operational activities
- Ability to work in compliance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DoN) regulations, policies, and guidelines
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required baseline and technical certifications necessary to support contract requirements and customer support responsibilities
- Must obtain and maintain the baseline and technical certifications required by the contract/customer environment to support the applicable service desk or system support level
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with or experience supporting cloud-based services and environments including Microsoft Azure
- Familiarity with or experience supporting cloud-based services and environments including AWS DevOps environments
- Experience collaborating with senior administrators, engineers, and developers on infrastructure modernization and system improvement initiatives
- Experience tracking outage trends, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive solutions
- Experience supporting secure or mission-critical enterprise systems within Federal or Department of Defense (DoD) environments
- Experience preparing and maintaining system documentation
- Experience preparing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Experience preparing and maintaining user communications and operational notices
- Experience with enterprise modernization initiatives, virtualization technologies, and secure system operations
