Job Summary
Establish, maintain, and troubleshoot serial and IP-based communications systems and networks while assisting government personnel in strict configuration control. Participate in Computer and Communications Systems Engineering Reviews and provide technical representation at meetings as required. Test, monitor, and coordinate the installation of computer programs and systems, including adapting pre-developed application packages to user environments. Develop, document, and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards to ensure compatibility and information sharing across the organization. Provide comprehensive network and system administration for assigned Computer and Communications Systems. Requires seven years of professional experience in systems administration including workstation, file server, and web server support, plus three years of technical experience supporting TACNET or other Navy C4I systems.
Required Qualifications
- Active Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
- Seven (7) years with Master's or eleven (11) years with Bachelor's degree of professional experience in systems administration
- Experience supporting daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers
- Installation of hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation
- Three (3) years of technical experience in support of TACNET, or other Navy C4I systems
Desired Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems
- Cybersecurity Work Force (CSWF) qualified in 9 months
