Job Summary
Bilingual (Spanish) Special Education Teacher for K-5 delivering research-based instruction aligned to each student’s IEP; develops annual IEPs with present levels, goals, and required services; assesses progress to adjust instruction; collaborates with the Dean of Instruction, SPED coordinator, general education and related service providers; creates a positive, personalized learning environment with accommodations and modifications; manages timely progress records, reporting, and compliance with state/federal rules; weekend/evening commitments may be required; role supports a dual-language program and requires NYS teaching certification with English and Spanish proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related degree
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Valid NYS Teaching Certification or currently on the pathway to certification
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Experience attending IEP meetings
