Job Summary
Execute rigorous, standards-aligned art instruction for K-5 students in a dual language environment, integrating hands-on experiments and inquiry-based learning. Analyze student performance data to inform targeted interventions, track progress toward mastery, and maintain close relationships with families through regular conferences. Design and implement differentiated instruction for diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs, while collaborating with grade-level teams to ensure curriculum alignment. Participate in ongoing professional development, including personalized instructional coaching, lesson study, and co-planning. Maintain strong classroom management using Responsive Classroom practices and attend team meetings and common planning times. Some weekends and evenings are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- at least 1-3 years of elementary teaching experience
- Valid NYS Teaching Certification or currently on the pathway to certification
- Fluency in English and Spanish languages
- Firm commitment to student academic progress
- Motivation to work as part of a team and possess a strong sense of personal responsibility
- Ability and desire to receive and implement feedback from the leadership team and colleagues to drive professional growth
- Some weekends and evenings are required
