Job Summary
SY26-27 Springfield Legacy Academy seeks a Special Education Teacher for grades 6-8 to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction using research-based curriculum; support a range of learners with scaffolding and embedded supports; use formative assessment to drive growth; build strong relationships and collaborate in co-teaching teams; engage families and participate in professional learning communities; contribute to a culture of belonging and continuous improvement; mentor resident teachers or student teachers when applicable; participate in school-wide initiatives and meet licensure requirements in Massachusetts. The role includes opportunities for signing bonus and relocation assistance for eligible candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts DESE educator license in the appropriate subject and grade level (candidates not yet licensed may be eligible for licensure waiver)
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience teaching at the middle or high school level
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred
