Job Summary
Special Education Teacher for grades 6-12 at Georgia Fugees Academy Charter School. Responsibilities include providing direct and indirect services to students with disabilities in accordance with individualized education programs (IEPs); delivering specially designed instruction; supporting students in inclusion and small-group settings; monitoring progress toward IEP goals; collaborating with general education teachers to support accommodations, modifications, behavior supports, and instructional planning; participating in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, reevaluations, manifestation determination reviews, and other special education-related meetings; maintaining compliance with IEP timelines and accurate documentation; collecting and analyzing student data; communicating regularly with families; supporting testing accommodations; and ensuring all services are documented accurately and consistently. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, or a related field
- A valid Georgia teaching certificate in Special Education is preferred
- Knowledge of IEP development, special education compliance, progress monitoring, accommodations, modifications, and inclusive instructional practices
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, organization, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, service providers, and school leadership
