Job Summary
SY26-27 Kiley Prep Middle School Science Teacher is a full-time role at Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP) serving grades 6–8. Responsibilities include delivering rigorous, standards-aligned science instruction using research-based curriculum and data-driven formative assessments, designing lessons that ensure access to grade-level content, and employing embedded supports. The teacher collaborates in co-teaching teams, participates in professional learning communities, builds strong relationships with students and families, and contributes to a culture of belonging and continuous growth. Licensure in General Science by the Massachusetts DESE is required, with waivers encouraged for candidates not yet licensed; a bachelor’s degree is required. Additional duties include upholding school-wide expectations, participating in professional development, and supporting future educators by hosting residents or student teachers where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the middle or high school level
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in General Science for the appropriate grade level (required); candidates not yet licensed may be eligible for a licensure waiver and are encouraged to apply
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Demonstrated ability to support a range of learners through strong instruction and relationship-building
