Job Summary
Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in inclusion, push-in, and pull-out settings while collaborating with general education teachers to integrate research-based interventions. Deliver differentiated instruction that supports social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development aligned with IEP goals and the Response to Intervention model. Manage IDEA compliance activities, including annual IEP development, student data documentation in the Special Education Data System, and assessment of eligibility and progress. Provide specialized instruction during Extended School Year and establish transition plans for kindergarten entry. Maintain strict confidentiality of student information and uphold professional standards in all interactions with staff, families, and service providers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in elementary or early childhood special education
- Passing score on the Praxis 5025 exam
- Two or more years of professional teaching of young children with special needs
- Ability to deliver virtual instruction using modern technology and video conferencing softwares
- Ability to travel to multiple AppleTree locations if needed
- Passing score on the Special Education and Elementary Education Content Knowledge (PK-3) Praxis within 60 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in early childhood special education
- Certified speech language pathologist
- Demonstrated teacher leadership experience
