Job Summary
Master Teacher at KIPP KC serves as a content expert and grade-level leader who models rigorous, standards-aligned instruction, mentors 2–5 teachers, and leads grade-level planning and alignment across pacing and expectations. Roles include opening classrooms for observation, co-planning, and data analysis; providing actionable feedback; supporting high‐quality curriculum and assessments; facilitating collaborative planning and calibration; and contributing to school-wide and network-wide academic initiatives. The position requires teaching 1–2 Real World Learning courses connected to authentic projects, internships, and partnerships; organizing quarterly showcases; and collaborating with students, staff, and industry partners to design meaningful, real-world experiences. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (Missouri teaching certification or ability to obtain), 4–5 years of classroom success, 3 years of demonstrated academic growth, and strong coaching/leadership abilities. Travel to the work location is expected. As a full-time role, compensation is salary-based and commensurate with experience and education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Valid Missouri teaching certification, or ability to obtain
- Minimum of 4–5 years of demonstrated success in classroom teaching with strong student achievement results
- Minimum of 3 years of evidence of high academic growth and/or academic achievement in the classroom or content area
- Proven ability to coach or lead adults, with formal or informal leadership experience preferred
- Deep content knowledge in subject area
