Job Summary
Foundational Literacy Coach responsible for delivering high-quality literacy instruction and coaching across PreK-3, leading implementation of state literacy priorities, developing literacy pilots, and providing data-driven, culturally responsive support to students, families, and school teams. The role emphasizes instructional coaching across regional teams, data analysis to guide instruction, collaboration with content and grade-level teams to promote critical thinking and rigor, planning and leading virtual and in-person literacy professional development, and ensuring alignment with KIPP KC’s Real-World Learning initiatives. Requires strong expertise in early literacy (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension), balanced literacy, assessment literacy, curriculum internalization, and the ability to develop professional learning scopes and sequences; bachelor’s degree and Missouri teaching license with appropriate certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Missouri Teaching license with required certification for subject and level assigned
- Satisfactory outcome of a background check
- Applicants currently pursuing a certification may apply before certification is received. All certifications must be acquired and on file with KIPP KC before the end of the first year of employment.
