Job Summary
Master Teacher at KIPP KC leads instructional excellence, models KIPP KC strategy, mentors 2–5 teachers, and chairs grade-level teams. Responsible for standards-aligned instruction, data-driven planning, lesson planning, coaching, and facilitating Real World Learning experiences (projects, internships, showcases). Requires Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), Missouri teaching certification (or ability to obtain), and 4–5 years of successful classroom teaching with evidence of high academic growth. Will oversee curriculum alignment, coaching, collaboration across grade levels, and partnership with industry to design meaningful student experiences; travel not emphasized beyond typical school environment. Full-time role with in-person work in Kansas City, MO; compensation based on experience. Encourage equity, professional development, and leadership within a high-expectation, college-preparatory charter school network.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Valid Missouri teaching certification, or ability to obtain
- Minimum of 4–5 years of demonstrated success in classroom teaching with strong student achievement results
- Minimum of 3 years of evidence of high academic growth and/or academic achievement in the classroom or content area
- Proven ability to coach or lead adults, with formal or informal leadership experience preferred
- Deep content knowledge in subject area
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment
- Works effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
