Job Summary
SY 26-27 Elementary Classroom Teacher (Grades 4-5) in Savannah, GA. Responsible for providing appropriate instructional experiences, developing content, assessing and encouraging student progress, and managing the classroom environment. Includes virtual duties such as online instruction and communicating with stakeholders via electronic media, using a variety of programs to complete instructional and administrative tasks, and participating in required professional learning to maintain virtual teaching endorsement. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education P-5, with advanced degree preferred. Incumbents work on an annual contract with a 190-day work calendar, follow district policies, maintain records, coordinate with paraprofessionals and volunteers, and ensure home-school communication through conferences and timely coursework completion.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education P-5
- Experience in teaching (implied by duties)
- Ability to communicate effectively in virtual platform and in-person settings
- Professional learning participation
- Annual contract with 190 work days
