Job Summary
Academic Coach responsible for analyzing student data, identifying learning goals, developing and guiding professional development for teacher groups and individuals, and modeling best practices to improve instruction. Duties include overseeing growth plans with specific student-centered goals and instructional objectives, facilitating professional learning aligned to the school improvement plan, mentoring teachers, designing model lessons, monitoring progress toward school goals, and collaborating with the school leadership team to ensure the use of data-informed strategies to raise student achievement. Requires a Bachelor's Degree and a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education (P-5) with at least 3 years of teaching experience; 190-day contract schedule; strong oral and written communication skills; and experience leading professional learning and teacher growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education P-5
- At least 3 years of teaching experience
- Evidence of mentoring and leadership in improving teacher instructional skills
- Experience facilitating professional learning for groups and individuals
- Ability to analyze student data and develop school improvement plans
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Experience designing and implementing job-embedded professional development
- Demonstrated ability to align teacher growth with student learning needs
