Job Summary
Inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental features of project plans and customer commitments. Report observations orally and in writing to site contacts, and inform the Environmental Compliance Team of violations or activities. Review plans, specifications, and shop drawings to coordinate environmental controls with contractor supervisors. Prepare daily, accurate inspection reports and maintain water quality records in accordance with state and federal laws. Evaluate the environmental impact of construction activities regarding water quality, wetlands, and hazardous materials. Contact supervisors for priorities and deadlines, resolve interpretation differences, and ensure safe utilization of company vehicles and equipment. Work independently in inclement weather and rough terrain, adhering to established procedures and meeting project deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license within the applicable jurisdiction
- Meet company's auto insurability requirements
- Ability to work under exposure to inclement weather conditions
- Ability to travel to project sites
- Ability to maneuver over rough and uneven terrain
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate information both written and oral
- Ability to respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, the general public and other employees of the organization
- May be regularly required to stand, walk, and drive vehicle short and/or long distances
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequently required to talk or hear
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to, 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant, color peripheral vision, depth vision, and ability to adjust focus
- May be occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
- Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions
- Noise level for this position is loud
- This position may require protracted or irregular hours
- Flexibility to work irregular hours
- Work responsibilities may require out of town travel to Raba Kistner offices, client offices and project locations
