Job Summary
Patrol hospital campuses, conduct room searches, and maintain order while responding to medical emergencies, fire drills, and security escorts. Issue traffic citations, apprehend suspects, collect evidence, and assist in investigations. Perform general law enforcement duties including property checks and acting as a chauffeur for division heads and visitors as requested. Maintain firearm proficiency and attend required periodic training sessions. Work full-time, part-time, weekend-only, or on-call shifts in various environments, occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds or climbing stairs. Secure an active position to receive a $2,000 hiring bonus, an additional $2,000 on the first anniversary, and a $4,000 annual bonus thereafter.
Required Qualifications
- Currently sworn, non-retired Police Officer
- At least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Police ID
- VPEC
- Firearm certification
- North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement certification
- Able to work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
- Able to occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
- Able to climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
- Able to stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
- Attend required periodic training sessions and seminars
- Maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms
