Job Summary
Operate telephone switchboard and coordinate emergency communications at a VA Medical Center. Responsibilities include answering calls within 3 rings, routing and providing information, handling overhead paging and radio systems, dispatching messages, assisting with outgoing and long-distance calls, maintaining logs, protecting patient information per HIPAA, and responding to emergencies (Code Blue, fire alarms). Requires strong communication, multitasking, and calmness under pressure; healthcare experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in call center, switchboard, or customer service role
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer and phone system skills
- Healthcare experience (preferred)
